Welcome to LawCap. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LawCap, a service provided by The Gahitwen, LLC. ("Company", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our website and services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Description of Service

LawCap is an AI-powered legal research assistant designed primarily for legal professionals operating under the jurisdiction of Tanzania. The Service utilizes Large Language Models to analyze legal queries and retrieve relevant case law, statutes, and other legal documents.

2. Disclaimer regarding Legal Advice

LAWCAP DOES NOT PROVIDE LEGAL ADVICE.

The Service is an informational and research tool. It is not a substitute for professional legal advice, counsel, or representation. While we strive to provide accurate information, the AI-generated responses may contain errors, omissions, or hallucinations. You are solely responsible for independently verifying the accuracy, completeness, and applicability of any information obtained through LawCap before relying on it in any legal matter.

3. User Accounts & Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you may be required to register for an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Credits and Payment

LawCap operates on a pay-as-you-go credit system.

  • Research Queries: Every successful research query consumes one (1) credit. Refunds for failed queries are handled automatically by the system.
  • Purchases: Credits can be purchased in packs via our payment processor, Stripe. All payments are non-refundable unless otherwise required by applicable law.
  • Expiration: Purchased and promotional credits currently do not expire, though The Gahitwen, LLC. reserves the right to modify this policy in the future with reasonable notice.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload, post, or transmit any sensitive or confidential client information.
  • Attempt to breach the security of the Service or its underlying infrastructure.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service.
  • Use the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
  • Automate requests (e.g., via scraping or bots) without our explicit written permission.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of The Gahitwen, LLC. and its licensors. Our trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without the prior written consent of The Gahitwen, LLC.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE GAHITWEN, LLC., ITS AFFILIATES, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, OR ITS LICENSORS BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THE USE OF, OR INABILITY TO USE, THIS SERVICE.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
